DJI is set to announce a new compact folding Matrice Enterprise drone. We saw it fly today in New York City.
Enterprise and public safety drone pilots will be super excited to hear that DJI is launching a new Matrice drone tomorrow. Rumors are swirling about whether the drone is to be called the M20, M30 or M400. Public Safety has come to love the M300 drone from DJI, but it takes a long time to setup. The Matrice 300 series is the go-to drone for Public Safety, but it is large and the antithesis of portable.
The rumor is DJI will release this new drone tomorrow. Drone U instructors saw DJI testing the equipment in dense urban environments. We believe they were testing the new Radar units that have been leaked on Twitter. Rumors state that the camera payload for the drone will be a mimic of the H20 on the M300. If DJI launches a folding drone that mimics the M300 with a similar payload, it could be a power house. Drone pilots will no doubt be asking what competition will this drone have? Especially as all other competitors to DJI scramble to scale drone production. Seems manufacturing problems persist and there does not seem to be an end in sight.
DJI’s newest drone will offer a powerful triple camera payload. The new drone will be highly portable, sizing up to be slightly larger than a Mavic 3. This new drone will also offer advanced pilot assist tools. DJI has taken the best of the M300 and merged it with a foldable platform. Expect to see upside down motors, like the M300.
Let’s see what DJI has in store for drone pilots tomorrow. While the drone is supposedly built for public safety, this drone could be a powerhouse for utility inspections and much, much more. We imagine that this drone will have a wide camera, zoom camera and a thermal camera. In addition, the pictures showcase a miniature H20T, adding to the potential of this drone.
