Lessons Learned from working with Drone Jobbing Companies

Flying drone missions for drone jobbing companies can be a great method to gain experience, but take these lessons learned to avoid costly mistakes.

Flying drone missions for drone jobbing companies can be a great way to gain experience and build a portfolio as a drone pilot. However, there are several important lessons to be learned in order to maximize the profitability and effectiveness of these missions.

Newer drone pilots should be aware of some of the predatory nature of drone jobbing companies.  Just like in any vertical these days, the intelligent, research-driven participants are always rewarded over the lazy.  With these lessons we have learned from working drone jobs, maybe a drone pilot can avoid numerous costly mistakes.

Working for drone jobbing companies can create momentum in your drone business, but the jobs should really be seen as paid practice. The first step in signing up with drone jobbing companies is make sure that any job you take on is a legal one.  Newer drone pilots will need to ensure that every drone job they take, should be in uncontrolled airspace, or accessible via Laanc.

One key lesson is to stay close to home, as the further you venture away from a major city, the more money you may lose in travel expenses.

Additionally, it is important for pilots to not take the jobs too seriously and instead, view them as paid practice opportunities. This approach not only allows you to gain experience and build your skills, but it also provides you with marketing materials such as photos and videos that can help promote yourself and your services. Furthermore, it is crucial to thoroughly understand the deliverable and plan as much as possible to make the time as profitable as possible.

Gone are the days when traditional drone jobbing companies provided the most desirable job opportunities. These companies were often known to pay too little and require too much of their pilots. Low-end work has become more associated with drone jobbing companies, with a cutthroat competitive landscape driving down wages and expectations.

Those looking for more substantial job opportunities in the drone industry should turn to industry-specific vendors and software processing companies, as these companies are more likely to understand and recognize the value of drone technology. As the drone industry continues to flourish, pilots must hone their skills in order to stay competitive and secure lucrative job opportunities. It is essential for drone pilots to focus on specialized skills and niche markets in order to succeed.
