This weeks webinar will continue our short series on FAA regulations and compliance. This series encompasses both existing regulations and the recently proposed regulations by the FAA. Join us and we’ll be sure and keep you safe, confident and out of trouble!
Why You Should Watch:
Last night was especially important for anyone trying to become insured for commercial purposes. As we sit in this “holding pattern” until the FAA proposed regs move forward (or not), we talked about what we can do as drone pilots to prepare. We went over the routines, forms and system to be sure and stay compliant, and to also prove proficiency when the time actually comes to test for FAA certification. Participants also learned how these documents are necessary for you to get insured, and how to get the lowest rates available. If you were part of this webinar then you’re already ahead of the curve!
Competition will be steep as regs will create a path for more to join the ranks of “profiting from your passion.” Will you be ahead of the curve when that happens? Or will you sit back and take a “wait and see” approach, putting yourself behind from the start? Be proactive and watch this webinar.

Our interesting question today comes from Joseph in Texas. He is asking if he can shoot a drone out of the sky if it’s over his property? With all the debate about airspace and who “owns” the airspace above a house, this is probably a question more people are thinking about than would care to verbalize. But we’re not afraid to tackle it, and we very much appreciate the submission, Joseph.

This weeks webinar will cover a hot topic as we will begin a short series on the proposed FAA regulations. This first webinar is going to specifically go through privacy standards for aerial photography and videography. Not only will you learn how to stay compliant with current FCC laws, we will prepare you for the proposed FAA rules. Stay ahead of the game and be as prepared as possible with the best routines and systems that will help you stay compliant at all times, yet still enjoy flying.
Why You Should Watch:
With all the uncertainty regarding the FAA and their recently proposed regulations for UAVs, this was our most attended webinar to date. This initial webinar, part of a short series about staying compliant with FAA and FCC regulations, dove right into the things you need to know to stay out of hot water with the feds. Stay tuned next week as we continue in this all important examination of the practical things to watch out for when you fly.

Our question today comes from Cody. He is a videographer and would like to know how he could get a Plex 4K camera on a drone? This is a very interesting question. The detail a camera like this will pick up is insane, and it’s about 13 times heavier than a GoPro. So you’d really have to create a custom set up for this. We go into how to do this on our show today.

Our question today comes from Robert in Slovakia, who wants to know how prop guards affect the flying of a drone, and if he should use them? We go through all the details about prop guards on this show, and why we typically do not recommend them.

This week we will go over standards for filming videography, as well as inflight tips and tricks to turn your videos into professional grade footage. If you film with your drone then this is a “can’t miss” webinar. Come prepared with your questions and we’ll be sure and answer them also.
Why You Should Watch:
One of the most important webinars so far, we went into great detail about the secrets I’ve learned over my years of aerial filming. We covered the keys to selling professional grade footage, and talked about how you too can make money with your drone photos and videos. However, the key to it all is making your produced footage look amazing. If you don’t know the critical steps in order to do this then it’s worthless to even try and sell it.
From frame rates, GoPro settings and correctly uploading workflow, the deliverable has to make boring objects looking sensational. Do you know how to take your GoPro footage from amateur to professional? You will after this webinar.

This initial webinar, part of a short series about staying compliant with FAA and FCC regulations, dove right into the things you need to know to stay out of hot water with the feds. Do homeowners “own” the airspace above their homes? We give case law that shows why we take the stance we do, and our answer is contrary to almost all others out there (and they are wrong!). You’ll learn this and numerous other vital facts through this week’s webinar.
Stay tuned next week as we continue in this all important examination of the practical things to watch out for when you fly.

This week we will continue to go deeper into the art and science of aerial photography with GoPros and micro-UAVs. We’ll turn our attention to the “art” side of drone photography as we discuss tips and tricks to manipulate images in post production. This is one of the most important ways for you to increase your value to clients. We will be using Photoshop CS6.
Why You Should Watch:
Aerial photography is one of the easiest ways to make money with your drone. But with unedited images you’re going to get nowhere fast. You have to gain a decent understanding of the most important factors to create the best looking pictures possible.
I this webinar we covered the overall workflow for using Photoshop to edit your aerial photographs. We discussed many things in depth, especially how to eliminate fisheye effect, modify colors to create the sharpest image and add layer masks to highlight subjects.
This is a short, value packed webinar you should watch now to take your photo editing skills to a new level.
