Where to find the best drone jobs for Pilots

When it comes to finding the best drone jobs, drone pilots should be looking in new outlets like software processors and large scale drone teams.

The best drone jobs are often those that reward pilot skill, involve little editing/processing and offer a high profit margin for drone pilots.  At Drone U, we often teach that the best drone jobs are actually recurring drone jobs.  Recurring drone jobs include operations like Construction based missions, solar inspections, insurance assessments, Cell Tower inspections and roof inspections.

When you’re looking to find the best drone jobs, they all typically ask for the same drone deliverables. While many drone pilots are privy to this information, they still have difficulty in finding the best drone jobs.  Finding the best drone jobs can come from a variety of resources.  Great instagram reels content to killer linkedin Articles or even creating relationships with industry professionals.  Now-a-days it is even easier to create rapport with potential clients thanks to targeted data from Apollo.io.

Drone pilots have traditionally looked to Drone Jobbing companies to provide much needed starter jobs.  Think of starter jobs as drone jobs with “low hanging fruit.”  We’ve learned many lessons, thanks to our members, of working with drone jobbing companies.

Drone jobbing companies provide entry level opportunities for entry level pilots.  There are few options for finding drone jobs with high margins and recurring revenue.  Thanks to our Drone U members, we have recently discovered that some of the best recurring revenue drone jobs are coming from software processing companies.

In the evolution of the drone market, we have seen companies welcome drones in the past decade.  Then these companies welcomed the digitizing of environments and using aerial intelligence to make data based decisions for their businesses. Now these same companies are realizing that the true power in scaling a drone team.  The true power is having organized flight logs, mission logs, and organized data sets.  The easier drone program managers can manage all the data from their various drone jobs, the more likely the company is to succeed.

(This is a primary reason why Drone U developed the Enterprise Drone Training platform PROPS.  Organize education in chronological order, track progress with measurable outcomes and keep pilots organized in their journey of mastering flight. )

Due to this evolution in drone operations needs, photogrammetric processing companies are becoming data management dashboards.  Companies like Optelos offer powerful solutions to photogrammetrically process data, manage data, and deploy actions from the data.  Partnering with Fly Guys, Optelos is avidly seeking drone pilots to fullfill missions for their clients and partners.  Goes to show… the data is extremely valuable, but to acquire good data consistently…you need quality drone pilots.

Some of the best drone jobs are coming from processing companies like Optelos.  Drone U event teaches our roofing inspection course on the Optelos Platform.  Drone pilots who take advantage of drone jobs through Optelos will thoroughly enjoy these types of drone jobs.  Remember we said what made up the best drone jobs?   In working with Optelos and Fly Guys, drone pilots will be asked to complete mapping acquisition plans.  Yet these autonomous drone missions are shorter than older drone mapping and missions.  Optelos, which uses the Context Capture engine to process data, creates higher quality data with less acquisition. No seriously, we tested the theory prior to filming and releasing the Roof Inpsection Course.

When you’re looking where to find the best drone jobs, there are two distinct methods drone pilots can use to attract the drone jobs.  Drone pilots should be utilizing a strategy to fit the two traditional methods of marketing.  Find people who are searching for your service, or tease a potential interest through advertising.

Want to be found when headhunters are filling roles for drone jobs? Drone pilots should be writing great articles discussing the challenges, beauties and things to know of flying in their local region.  Imagine writing an article, seo rich but discussing what to know when looking for drone pilots in say Reno, NV.

Creating compelling content on operating drones creates a higher probability that anyone searching for drone pilots, will find your site.  If a headhunter or drone program manager is looking for a drone pilot in your local area, you’re making it easier to be found.

find drone jobs with processing software

The second strategy for drone pilots of advertising is much easier to understand.  From creating compelling instagram reels to creating compelling content for associations or networking groups… You’re educating a dollarized value of a drone mission. You’re creating videos or other ads to showcase your value.  While this shotgun approach to advertising can work, we recommend specific strategies in our sales class for members.

Sometimes when you’re looking where to find the best drone jobs, you want to setup yourself to be found.  Do this throughwoman finds best drone jobs and takes flight

    1. Writing blog posts of what it is like to fly in your area
    2. Create instagram, YT or Linkedin Short Form video to advertise your business
    3. Create a listing of your business in as many places as possible and acquire genuine reviews of the business with photos.
    4. Sign up with drone jobbing companies
    5. Create relationships with industry partners through conferences
    6. Create relationships through associations, luncheons and networking groups

To conclude our points about where to find the best drone jobs, look below for the list of actions drone pilots can take.  If you’re looking where to find the best drone jobs, those jobs will come from Data Processing companies and software solutions for drone jobs.  Also drone pilots are finding a lot of success in flying drone “fly-through” videos for media production companies.

Here are our recent findings in drone jobbing through the evolution of the drone industry:

    1. Best drone jobs are recurring revenue
    2. Pilots need to be proficient in drone mapping to get inspection jobs.
    3. Pilots can find these drone jobs through Software Engines and Data solutions providers.
    4. Make yourself easy to be found for drone jobs
    5. Network in-person and online
    6. Drone jobbing companies are becoming less valuable for drone service providers
    7. Opportunities are arising from larger companies implementing drones at scale.
    8. Most drone pilots need to learn technical drone jobs (mapping) to create long-term businesses
