Scott, a drone pilot from North Carolina regularly flies the Phantom 4 Pro V2 for construction jobs. Does he need to notify the public before he sets flight? Also, a typical construction site is bustling with people and activity. So, should Scott go through the hassle of acquiring a Part 107 waiver since he will be flying over people?

Great question, Scott. To answer his question, we first reveal whether or not Scott is legally required to notify the public before flying his drone. While this may not be a legal requirement, will informing the public help conduct safer operations? Today’s show is about FAA’s NPRM for Remote ID for drones. Jon McBride from RMUS joins us to discuss how this proposed rule will impact the drone industry as a whole.
