The City of Newton Massachusetts attempted to inhibit flight over the whole city for any drone or UAV. The city also passed additional ordinances attempting to create a drone registry for owners, but thanks to Dr. Micheal Singer the ordinances were nullified.
Dr. Singer sued the City of Newton in Federal District Court which was decided yesterday, Dr. Singer won the case on a conflict of preemption. Essentially the courts stated that the city had no authority to regulate the airspace over the city. How will this affect future city ordinances, listen in to hear the scoop!
