Our caller, a Part 107 certified pilot is facing a rather unique predicament. His employer, a roofing company is using an unlicensed pilot for some inspection work. How can our caller convince his employer to hire him, a Part 107 pilot instead?
Our caller should first try and educate his client about the risks of hiring non-Part 107 pilots. Anyone flying without a Part 107 license is risking hefty fines and huge liabilities in case of an accident.
